Terms of participation
In these terms, the “Organiser” means the organiser of the Limassol Charity Run community, who can be reached at info@limassolcharityrun.com.
1. The community. The Limassol Charity Run community meets weekly at Molos Sculpture Park on the Limassol seafront, and once a month for a longer event. The day and time of the weekly run are announced by email to everyone on the list. The route is about 5 km out and back on the paved promenade, with a 1 km loop. There is no entry fee, no timing and no finish order. These are training runs, not races. The community does not collect fees.
2. Your fitness is your responsibility. By signing up you confirm that you are sufficiently fit and healthy to take part, and that you have no medical condition that makes taking part unsafe. If you are in any doubt, speak to a doctor before you run. We do not ask for a medical certificate and we do not check anyone's health. Do not take part if you feel unwell on the day.
3. You take part at your own risk. You take part entirely at your own risk. The Organiser, its volunteers, run leaders, coaches and partners accept no liability, to the extent permitted by law, for any loss, damage or expense arising in connection with your participation, including loss of or damage to property and claims by third parties.
This exclusion does not apply to death or personal injury caused by the organiser's negligence, or to any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
4. Age and children. The minimum age is 4. Children under 11 must remain beside a responsible adult for the whole distance — the volunteers cannot supervise children. Anyone under 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf and remains responsible for them throughout. Children aged 11–17 may run without an adult only if a parent or guardian has confirmed this at registration.
5. On the route. The promenade stays open to the public. Keep to the right, pass on the left, and give way to other people using it. Follow the instructions of volunteers. Buggies and prams are welcome and should start at the back. Wheelchairs are welcome on the whole route. Dogs, bicycles, scooters, skates and other wheels are not allowed. The Organiser or a run leader may ask anyone to leave a run, and may remove anyone from the list, if their behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or disrespectful to other participants or to the public. If asked to leave, please do so at once.
6. Photography. We will photograph our runs for our website and our social media. We do not publish photographs in which a child is recognisable unless their parent or guardian has agreed to this when registering them. If you prefer not to be the main subject of a published photograph, tick the box when you sign up and we will give you a coloured wristband at the start. You can ask us to remove any photograph at any time by writing to info@limassolcharityrun.com, and we will do it without asking why. Our privacy policy explains the legal basis.
7. Numbers. We do not limit numbers at the weekly runs. For a monthly event we will say in advance if places are limited.
8. Cancellation. If the weather or anything else makes a run unsafe, we cancel it and email everyone on the list, normally by 20:00 the evening before. If conditions change overnight, we will email as early as possible on the morning of the run and may also call or text the phone number you gave us. A run leader may also stop or shorten a run at any time if it becomes unsafe.
9. Your data. How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy policy.
10. Law. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus. If these terms are translated into another language, the English version prevails.
11. Changes. We may update these terms. The current version, with the date of the last update, is always on this page. If we make a material change, we will email everyone on the list. If you keep taking part after a change, you accept the updated terms.
